Home to majestic mountains, calm lakes, and a cool climate, Kashmir can only be described as a paradise dressed in white. But this northernmost state is famous for a lot more than just snow. Kashmir is one of the perfect honeymoon destinations.

PLACE TO VISIT:
SRINAGAR:
In Srinagar, you can visit Mughal Gardens Nishat Bagh and Shalimar Bagh. All the gardens are situated on the bank of Dal Lake with the Zabarwan Mountains in the background. The distance from Srinagar to the said gardens is about 12 and 15 km respectively. En-route visit carpet-weaving factory and old Srinagar city & Shankracharya Temple. Srinagar dal lake Out of the many things to do in Kashmir. Visiting this majestic lake will let you tick off three things on your sightseeing list of Jammu Kashmir tourist places. The first is the beautiful lake itself. You could either walk by the lake with your loved ones, take a boat ride in it or simply relax in the evening as the cool breeze calms you.
GULMARG:
At an elevation of 2650 meters above sea level, it is the perfect hotspot for tourists looking to have fun in the snow. With an average temperature of around 7 degrees, it is the perfect hill station to have snowball fights and indulge in adventure sports like skiing and snowboarding. If you are looking for something more relaxing, you should take the gondola ride to phase 1 or phase 2 (closed, if the snowfall is heavy) and view the glorious Gulmarg covered with snow
PAHALGAM:
Pahalgam is located at a height of around 7,200 ft. and is approximately 2 hours’ drive from Srinagar. Throughout your journey, you will come across many woolly dogs and Chinar trees. You will also pass through Pampore village known for manufacturing cricket bats, you can also opt to have a stop here. Your journey to this hill station will be accompanied by meadows on both sides, mountains, and after a while Lidder river will also join you, flowing parallel to the road, overflowing, cold, and immensely beautiful.
SONAMARG:
Sonamarg or Sonmarg, known as Sonamarag in Kashmiri, is a hill station located in the Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir Sonmarg literally translates to Meadow of Gold and it truly lives up to that name. A 2-hour drive from Srinagar peppered with little villages and scenic waterfalls lead to Sonmarg. The valley is popular with both locals and tourists, so expect a crowd during the summer months. If you have a day or two to spare, then you could also hike to the gorgeous Vishansar Lake in Sonmarg.
HOW TO REACH?
The Srinagar International airport is well connected to all major cities. You can take a taxi from the airport to roam about in the city.
To reach Srinagar by train, one has to reach either Jammu Tawi or Udhampur railway station. The stations are well connected with different parts of India. From these stations, you can hire taxis, private as well as state government buses to reach this magnificent place.
